On January 20, 2008, the Giants and the Packers squared off in NFC championship game at Lambeau field. At the start of the game it was -1 degrees Fahrenheit but the action on the field was hot enough to melt the ice. It would become the first conference championship game to go to overtime since the 1998 NFC Championship Game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings. Down by 3 in the fourth quarter, the Packers began to drive when Farve threw an interception to R. W. McQuarters. But as McQuarters was returning the interception, Ryan Grant forced a fumble, landing in the hands of Green Bay lineman Mark Tauscher at the Giants 19 yard line, which would result in a Packers field goal, tieing the game at 20. With 2:15 left in the game the Giants had the ball on the Green Bay 48 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage Ahmad Bradshaw took a hand-off all the way for the go-ahead touchdown, but a holding penalty on Chris Snee brought it back. The game would go into overtime. The Packers would win the toss but on the second play Farve would throw another interception to Corey Webster. Lawrence Tynes would go on to connect a 47 yard game winning field goal, clinching a fourth NFC Championship for the Giants and their first since 2000.Jacksonville Jaguars 31, Pittsburgh Steelers 29: AFC Wild Card
Jacksonville was beating Pittsburgh 21-7 at half-time but in the second half the Steelers would score on their first four drives, starting with linebacker James Farrior's interception of David Garrard's pass which would set up a Jeff Reed 28-yard field goal. Jacksonville would respond with an 8 play 82 yard drive finishing with a Maurice Jones-Drew 10 yard touchdown run, making the score 28-10. But the Steelers would fight right back with a 14 yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Heath Miller, followed by a 1 yard touch down run by Najeh Davenport, making the score 29-28 in favor of the s Steelers. With 1 timeout remaining and 2:38 left to play the Jaguars would drive down the field and take the lead with Josh Scobee's 25-yard field goal with 37 seconds left in the game would, giving Jacksonville the victory.New York Giants 21, Dallas Cowboys 17: NFC Divisional Playoffs
At the half the game was tied 14-14 but the Cowboys would take the lead with a 62 yard opening drive that would result in a Nick Folk field goal. The Giants would fight back with at the start of the fourth quarter with a 1 yard touchdown run by Brandon Jacobs. Both teams would go back and forth for most of the fourth quarter but with under 2 minutes left in the game, Tony Romo would try and drive the Cowboys down the field for the third victory over the Giants that season. With .08 seconds left on the clock defensive back R. W. McQuarters intercepted a Tony Romo pass in the end zone giving the Giants the win. Marking the first time in 20 years that the NFC's #1 seeded team had lost in the divisional round.San Diego Chargers 28, Indianapolis Colts 24: AFC Divisional game
At the end of the half the Colts lead 10-7, but in the second half the Chargers took the lead with a 30 yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Chris Chambers. Indianapolis took the lead again with 10:50 left in the fourth quarter, with a 55-yard touchdown pass by Manning to Anthony Gonzalez. Losing starting quarterback Phillip Rivers, San Diego, now relied on second-string quarterback Billy Volek, who would help drive the Chargers 78 yards in 8 plays. Volek would score from the 1-yard line, giving them a 28-24 lead with 4:50 left in the game. Manning would try to lead the Colt's again but would turn the ball over twice on downs, allowing the Chargers to run the clock out giving them the victory.New York Giants 17 vs New England Patriots 14: Super Bowls XLII
